Strategic Marketing & Brand · SIAM
Repositioning a Legacy Brand for Its 75th Anniversary
To celebrate SIAM’s 75th anniversary, I developed a year-long integrated marketing strategy designed to strengthen brand positioning, increase membership engagement, and demonstrate the real-world impact of applied mathematics. Rather than centering the organization itself, the campaign repositioned SIAM as the community empowering the people solving the world’s most complex problems.

Challenge
A milestone anniversary can easily become a nostalgic celebration rather than a meaningful opportunity for growth. The objective was to leverage the anniversary to:
- Increase membership value perception
- Drive engagement across multiple audience segments
- Support future membership growth
- Modernize SIAM’s brand messaging while honoring its history
My role
I served as lead strategist responsible for developing the campaign architecture, messaging framework, audience segmentation, content strategy, conversion approach, and year-long activation roadmap.
Strategy
I built the campaign around five strategic pillars:
- People Behind the Progress
- Math in the Real World
- Where Disciplines Converge
- 75 Years of Credibility. Still Driving What’s Next.
- Your Career, Accelerated
The campaign shifted messaging from talking about SIAM as an organization to highlighting the people whose work is transforming industries through applied mathematics.
Execution
Created:
- Audience segmentation framework
- Messaging architecture
- Value propositions
- Campaign platform
- Content pillars
- Funnel strategy
- Editorial roadmap
- Annual activation calendar
- Conversion strategy
- Multi-channel content recommendations
Results
Campaign planning completed for 2027 implementation, providing a unified marketing framework for anniversary communications across web, email, social, events, PR, paid media, and membership marketing.
Why it matters
This project demonstrates my ability to develop long-range integrated marketing strategies by aligning audience insights, messaging architecture, content planning, and conversion strategy into a cohesive campaign framework.
